Peppermill Resorts has joined the online poker business. This privately-owned operator of the five northern Nevada casinos, including its flagship in Reno launched national internet poker last week with online gambling operators Ultimate Poker. The Las Vegas-based company also organizes online poker from Station Casinos are offered, which is its majority owner.
Players who can create an online account within the state with a secured deposit then play and money with one of the pepper mill Nevada locations.
The agreement “gives us the opportunity to bring our online poker product to the Northern Nevada market through extensive Peppermill the customer database,” said Tobin Prior, CEO of Ultimate gaming.
Meanwhile, the CEO of a pepper mill competitors in Reno, the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, has said it will not offer online poker. Atlantis CEO John Farahi cited “social responsibility” in circumvention of online games, which he claimed could lead to more gambling addiction disorders.
“Just because you can do something, does not mean that you do it”, the Farahi Reno Gazette-Journal said.
Reno gaming analyst Ken Adams said those statements, it is difficult for the Atlantis to make change course in the future. “They have taken quite a publicly moral grounds. This is hard to back out,” Adams said.
