Portugal could have new rules in place for online games before Parliament breaks for the summer July 10.
Portugal’s Ministry of Economic Affairs has completed a draft online gambling law, which are expected to be discussed in Parliament before the summer recess. The bill will arrive a little behind schedule, for the first time in February than it is to be introduced in November and then on again.
Under Portuguese online portal Sapo.pt, the new law will legalize and regulate Internet poker, sports betting and online gambling in the country.
The new law is reported that a similar regulatory system in order to create the other Europeans in countries like Italy, Spain and France. A state gaming authority would leave gambling licenses to potential operators.
It was originally thought to move Portugal against allowing a single operator in the country, but seems to have moved away from this idea to allow more operators and more tax revenue.
